Nowadays, it has become increasingly important to be conscious of the use of natural resources. Therefore, Ankara Social Sciences University seeks to realize the following two main objectives: First, create a sustainable and environmentally-friendly campus. Second, as a social sciences-oriented university, conduct research on sustainable practices and implement projects that raise awareness not only in relation to students but also in relation to the society as such.
The “Reuse: Ecological Awareness and Social Sharing Project”, shaped within this vision, is a project that aims to raise awareness on the effects of consumption habits in modern life on our ecological system and to encourage alternative consumption models. Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Department of Turkish Language and Literature. This project was initiated by Dr. Nagihan Gür and Dr. Sevim Kebeli in 2016 with the support of Nihal Tekin, Faculty Secretary of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, and aims to draw attention to the ecological damages of our excessive and, at times, mindless consumption culture and, especially, to encourage buying second-hand clothing/goods.
